Celtic and Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are competing in the most fascinating Scottish Premiership title race for years.

Neil Lennon, Manager of Celtic looks on prior to the UEFA Europa League group E match between Celtic FC and Lazio Roma at Celtic Park on October 24, 2019 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Rangers booked a League Cup final date with Celtic at Hampden Park this past weekend.

The Hoops have won this competition – and every competition in Scotland – every year since 2016, while the Gers are bidding for a first major trophy since 2011 following their demotion a year later.

It isn’t the first competition that Rangers and Celtic will be competing for this season.

The Premiership title race is as close as it’s been for some time. As things stand, Neil Lennon’s side are top of the table on goal difference ahead of the light Blues.

It’s a fascinating battle this season between Celtic and Rangers, but those on the green half of the Old Firm divide should be worried – very worried.

That’s because Steven Gerrard’s side have matched the Bhoys so far this season. They have both conceded only seven goals in 11 Premiership games, with Celtic scoring only one more – 34 to 33.

However, Rangers have a £7 million player [The Record] in the form of Ryan Kent to hit top form yet.

Kent hasn’t featured heavily since re-signing for the Gers on the final day of the transfer window after picking up a hamstring problem on his second debut for the Glasgow giants.

But if Rangers are this good and this much of a threat to Celtic without the 22-year-old winger, then Lennon and co should be very concerned about how much better Gerrard’s side will be with Kent.

He said himself after Sunday’s semi-final that he was only 85 percent fit.

When he makes up that extra 15 percent, it could be edge that the Blues need to stop the Hoops from winning nine in a row come May.
