Ange Postecoglou has confirmed David Turnbull could make his long-awaited injury return when Celtic host Ross County at Parkhead this Saturday, via quotes by the Glasgow Times.
The Staggies travel to Glasgow looking to end the Hoops’ unbeaten run of 24 Premiership games. They have only dropped points in four Scottish top-flight fixtures since last losing at Livingston in September – a week after the Bhoys beat Malkay Mackay’s side 3-0 at home.
Celtic also beat Ross County 2-1 at Victoria Park on December 15, in what is Turnbull’s last league appearance. The 22-year-old has missed the last three months after he sustained a hamstring issue during the Hoops’ League Cup final win against Hibs at Hampden Park.

Turnbull was a key player for Postecoglou during the Australian’s first five months as Celtic boss prior to his injury. The four-cap Scotland international amassed 34 appearances in all competitions, while scoring nine goals and providing seven assists. He started 33 matches.
And despite missing the past three months, only Kyogo Furuhashi (16), Liel Abada (14) and Jota (10) have scored more. Only Abada (11), Tom Rogic (10) and Jota (9) have also offered more assists in all competitions this term. Anthony Rolston has likewise registered seven.
David Turnbull in contention for injury return when Celtic host Ross County
So, Postecoglou will be thrilled to have Turnbull in contention to make his injury return as Celtic host Ross County. A win on Saturday will also put extra pressure on Premiership title rivals Rangers. They visit Dundee FC on Sunday and already trail the Hoops by three points.
“Dave Turnbull is available, he has trained the last 10 days,” said Postecoglou.

Turnbull has returned from his injury to face extra competition at Celtic from when he last featured. Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley further bolstered Postecoglou’s ranks with January deals. So, Turnbull – who Gordon Young calls ‘truly wonderful’ – may have to wait to play.
