Gremio midfielder Fernando Henrique looks set to leave the club in 2022 – and Celtic are thought to be his most likely destination.

That’s according to Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte, who claim that Henrique’s current situation points to an exit.

Henrique hasn’t played for Gremio for two months now, despite being praised for his maximum speed and ability to cover ground in midfield.

Boss Vagner Mancini simply doesn’t seem very enamoured with Henrique, and the situation doesn’t look likely to chance.

Gremio now understand that Henrique is wanted by a number of clubs, and may let him go when the season ends.

Brazil’s Serie A campaign ends on December 9th, meaning Celtic could be in line for a January deal.

The report notes that Celtic have come calling for Henrique, and they are his most likely destination.

Henrique, 20, has won two Brazil Under-20 caps and does appear to have potential for the future despite his lack of playing time of late.

With Ismaila Soro failing to really bolster Celtic’s midfield over the last two years, Henrique could be seen as the man to do it.

Other clubs are keen too, but Celtic could welcome the Brazilian talent to Parkhead when the transfer window opens.
