Celtic want Fausto Vera as they eye another raid on the Argentinian market – but they face a battle with Belgian side Genk.
The Bhoys have already brought in one Argentinian star as Alexandro Bernabei arrived from Lanus earlier this summer.
Ange Postecoglou has previously admitted that he would love to shop in South America for signings – and he may not be done with Bernabei.
Whilst Celtic continue to be linked with signings, a new link has emerged with another Argentinian on the radar.
Celtic want Fausto Vera
The name in the mix this time is Fausto Vera, who plays as a midfielder for Argentinos Juniors over in his homeland.
Vera, 22, plays predominantly as a holding or box-to-box midfielder and has now played 71 times for Argentinos Juniors in all competitions.
Seven goals and three assists in those games is a decent record for Vera, who actually fell out of favour under Gabriel Milito.
Now featuring regularly and even captaining Argentinos Juniors in April, Vera seems primed for a big move away from Argentina.

Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg now claim that there is something of a three-way battle for Vera’s signature.
Racing Club de Avellaneda have made a bid but Argentinos Juniors are seeking a fee in the region of €6million (£5million).
That is allegedly beyond Genk, who also want Vera, whilst Celtic are also believed to be interested.
Celtic have been in the market for a holding midfielder of late having allowed Nir Bitton to leave this summer.
Portuguese ace Alfa Semedo has been linked whilst Vinicius Souza was a prime target before choosing a move to Espanyol.
Vera could now be Celtic’s new man, and joining forces with Bernabei could be appealing to the Argentinian star if the Bhoys can stump up the cash.
