Back in May, Celtic came very close to appointing Eddie Howe as the Scottish giants aimed to replace Neil Lennon.
Eventually, the 44-year-old pulled the plug on his move to Glasgow, for “reasons outwith both his and our control” according to a statement from Celtic.
In response to that setback, the Bhoys hired Ange Postecoglou, who has done a tremendous job at Parkhead in difficult circumstances.
Now, Howe has shared his thoughts on the Australian’s work, and Celtic fans may not like one word he used in particular.
What’s the story?
Well, as quoted by the Daily Record, Howe said: “I think he’s done an incredible job. Full credit to him, his staff and players for what he’s done this season because it was a team in slight transition and I think he’s been excellent in recruitment.”
In our view, the use of the word “slight” will annoy Celtic supporters.
The rebuilding job on Postecoglou’s hands when he was hired in June was anything but slight, with a massive amount of work to do at Celtic Park.

The 56-year-old effectively had to sign a brand new starting XI, as the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Diego Laxalt, Jonjoe Kenny, Scott Brown, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Ryan Christie, Kristoffer Ajer and other key men departed.
Ange Postecoglou has rebuilt Celtic
In response to these departures, Postecoglou found some gems, such as Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, Jota, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Daizen Maeda, Josip Juranovic and Joe Hart, among others.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt have also impressed together at centre-back.
In what was supposed to be a transition season, Celtic have absolutely shone, to the point where they are now six points ahead of Rangers at the summit.

With 71 goals scored and just 19 conceded, Postecoglou has blown the competition away in style, having done a remarkable recruitment job behind the scenes back in the summer.
His task was by no means a “slight” one as Howe put it, and now, Celtic fans will be overjoyed that the Bhoys hired Postecoglou instead of the Englishman.
