Celtic have already lost Craig Gordon to Hearts after his contract ended, and they seemingly won’t be bringing Fraser Forster back either.

The Bhoys understandably wanted Forster back at Parkhead next term, having seen him star this past season during a loan spell from Southampton.

The 32-year-old wants a permanent move according to The Scottish Sun, with Celtic only able to give him another loan switch to Glasgow.

A deal looks unlikely to be resurrected, and that means Celtic must look to other targets. The Daily Record claim that free agent Joe Hart and Wigan Athletic stopper David Marshall are candidates.

Celtic fans have been discussing these rumours, and feel there is a better option out there – ex-St Mirren goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky.

The Czech stopper officially became a free agent earlier this week, having turned down the chance to stay put with St Mirren.

Hladky, 29, starred during his time in Scotland, and the Sunday Post claimed in May that Celtic are ‘admirers’ of Hladky’s ability.

Some believe that Hladky would be better than Hart or Marshall, praising him for ‘sticking out like a sore thumb’ at St Mirren last season whilst admitting they wouldn’t be surprised if Celtic make a move to sign him for free whilst waiting to see if Forster makes a U-turn.
