Scottish champions Celtic play host to Hamilton on Wednesday night in the Scottish Premiership at Parkhead with Brendan Rodgers desperate to stretch his side’s run to 69 games – and fans want to see Kouassi Eboue feature.

The 20-year-old Ivorian has struggled to make a serious impact in Glasgow since his £3million move from Russian side Krasnodar, making just nine Celtic appearances in all competitions.

Celtic’s number 88 has hardly shown the quality required to both prove his transfer fee and start for Rodgers’ side, although a number of injuries have hampered the midfielder’s progress.

Making just four appearances this season in all competitions, Eboue has clocked up just 218 minutes of first-team football throughout 2017-18.

After difficult games against Motherwell, Anderlecht and Hibernian, Celtic return to home soil in a match where they are clear favourites and Brendan Rodgers could be tempted to rotate his side.

That could see Eboue start, with Start Armstrong, Olivier Ntcham, Scott Brown and Callum McGregor all regularly featuring in the middle of the park and potentially in need of a breather.

Celtic fans urged Rodgers to give Eboue some game time against Hamilton, with one fan describing him and Kristoffer Ajer as “great prospects” while another supporter wants to see him alongside captain Brown.
