Celtic fans are desperate to see Fernando Torres join, with his contract at Atletico Madrid due to expire at the end of the season.

Torres has already confirmed that he will leave Atleti in the summer, and Celtic supporters are keen to see him signed up.

If Torres was brought to Celtic it would be a highly eye-catching addition to Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The Bhoys have tended to sign youngsters, so shifting focus to a player like Torres would signal a change in approach.

Torres is in the twilight of his career, but there is no doubting that he could be a wonderful short-term addition for the Bhoys.

Fernando Torres of Spain celebrates scoring his side's third goal during the UEFA EURO 2012 final match between Spain and Italy at the Olympic Stadium on July 1, 2012 in Kiev, Ukraine.

The Spanish international was once one of the most feared strikers in world football, and his experience would be great for Celtic’s younger players to learn from.

Torres has scored seven goals for Atleti this season, which shows that he has not completely lost his goalscoring touch.

And if there is any way which Celtic could complete the transfer, they should seriously consider making a move for the former Liverpool man.
