Celtic couldn’t clinch the Scottish Premiership title on Saturday afternoon as they lost 2-1 away at Hibernian, with Dylan McGeouch playing a starring role once again.

The Bhoys had the chance to seal their seventh consecutive Scottish Premiership title, but fell to defeat at Easter Road as Neil Lennon’s Hibs side were in blistering form.

Jamie Maclaren put Hibernian in front with a smart finish at the back post, before Vykintas Slivka headed home Flo Kamberi’s cross to make it 2-0 after the break.

Odsonne Edouard did pull one back for Celtic, but they were ultimately second best in what was a superb performance from the hosts.

Key to Hibernian’s performance was the display of midfielder Dylan McGeouch, who was relentless in the middle of the park against Scott Brown, whilst he also had the quality on the ball to make Hibs tick.

The 25-year-old continues to impress under Lennon, and Hibs fans should savour him whilst he is still at Easter Road, given that his contract expires this summer and he can walk away for free.

After two spells with Celtic, McGeouch haunted his former employers, and fans even took to Twitter to suggest that the midfielder should be brought back to Celtic Park on a free transfer this summer, touting him as a successor to Scott Brown in midfield, with many noting that it was a pity that Celtic let him go.
