The Hoops have announced plans for a major redevelopment of its training centre in the East End of Glasgow.

Celtic have announced that they have applied for planning permission to launch a major redevelopment of its Barrowfield training centre in the East End of Glasgow.
In a club statement, the Hoops say that the site, located near to Celtic Park, is set to complement their established first-team base at Lennoxtown – which was opened in 2007 – once completed.
The Scottish Premiership champions have described the project as a “hugely exciting major redevelopment”, with the plans currently under consideration by Glasgow City Council.
The intended plans feature a brand new training facility, including what would be one of Scotland’s largest indoor football arenas, while a grandstand and refreshment facilities would be built during a further phase.
Ultimately, the new site – which, as well as being available to be used by the first team, particularly in poor weather, would also be utilised by the Celtic Women team and the youth teams – will feature two full sized outdoor grass pitches, two first class artificial pitches, both outdoor and indoor, as well as an outdoor warm up area.
