Compper has managed just one appearance for Celtic since joining the club in January.

Marvin Compper has told the Scottish Sun that he could remain at Celtic until he retires from professional football, despite only making one appearance for Brendan Rodgers’ side – and some Celtic fans have reacted in despair.
Compper, 33, joined Celtic in the January transfer window from German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for a fee believed to be in the region of £1million (The Scotsman).
However, he has failed to have any kind of impact, playing just once for Rodgers’ side in a 3-0 win in the quarter finals of last season’s Scottish Cup over minnow Morton back in March.
He was quoted by the Scottish Sun this week as saying: “I do not look back and I firmly believe that I will have some more beautiful moments. Actually, my idea is to end my career at Celtic.”
That is despite the addition of new loan signing Filip Benkovic being ahead of Compper in the pecking order, along with Jack Hendry, Jozo Simunovic, Dedryck Boyata and Kristoffer Ajer.

A one-time Germany international, Compper has two years remaining on his contract at Parkhead and Rodgers will now be ruing his decision to offer the player a two-and-a-half-year deal earlier this year.
Some Celtic fans reacted to Compper’s comments about retiring at Celtic, and the majority asked for him to retire sooner rather than later. Other fans begged for the German to leave.
