Celtic finally earned a narrow 1-0 win over Norwegian side Rosenborg on Thursday night in Group B of the Europa League thanks to Leigh Griffiths’ late winner – but Celtic fans are unimpressed with Mikael Lustig’s display.

Griffiths, fresh from signing a new contract at Parkhead, came off the bench in the 76th minute to replace Odsonne Edouard and just 11 minutes later he got himself on the score sheet.

Captain Scott Brown’s long ball into the box was headed down by defender Dedryck Boyata, and Griffiths was on hand to nod home his third goal of the season and secure all three points for the Hoops.

Fans were put through a nervy test of character during the match, as Rosenborg matched Celtic for much of the encounter. In what was viewed as a must-win game for Celtic to qualify, though, they finally accomplished their task.

Right-back Lustig has come in for plenty of criticism of late, which originated from last season. It seems as though Brendan Rodgers agrees with them to an extent, as Cristian Gamboa has re-entered the fold after being frozen out last term.

Celtic fans reacted to his display on Thursday night, but were shocked at the defender’s poor performance. Many were stunned at how many times he was beaten, while some believe his time at Celtic is coming to an end.
