Celtic have a couple of huge games when club football resumes following the international break and it leaves manager Brendan Rodgers with a big concern.

The Hoops were heavily linked with an abundance of centre-back options during the summer transfer window when Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko were injured.
Instead of signing cover, the Celtic manager got creative and turned Nir Bitton into a centre-half – a good one, it must be said – but failing to sign a proper defender was always going to come back to bite the former Liverpool boss.
The 23-year-old defender previously endured an eight-month layoff through injury, beginning in Ronny Deila’s tenure and finishing when Rodgers took the reins.
He is exactly not injury prone but such a lengthy absence should’ve made Rodgers throw caution to the wind by bringing in another recognised centre-back.
It remains to be seen how long Simunovic is out for, but if he misses the Champions League trip to Bayern Munich, the League Cup semi-final with Hibernian and the top-of-the-table clash at Aberdeen this month then Celtic fans should seriously question why their manager refused to strengthen his defensive options.
