The best scenario for Celtic is Moussa Dembele’s profile remains low.

Moussa Dembele has had a dream start to his Celtic career and his profile is increasing by the day.

The teenager signed in the summer after his Fulham contract expired, and has wasted no time making an impact for the club.

Dembele has dislodged the prolific Leigh Griffiths from Celtic’s starting XI, and become first choice under Brendan Rodgers.

A Champions League brace against Manchester City underlined his potential, and Dembele has since been nominated for Europe’s prestigious ‘Golden Boy’ award.

The award is one previously won by the likes of Paul Pogba, and Dembele is an early frontrunner in the fan vote, with Celtic’s supporters backing him for success.

He scored on his debut for France’s under-21 side last night, another big step forward for him.

Dembele’s rapid progress has seen interest grow in his signature, with The Sun reporting Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all keen on his signature.

If he wins the Golden Boy award then he will instantly become Europe’s top young property, and this will make it far harder for Celtic to hold onto him.

They would be able to command a huge fee, but there is no rush to sell him on. Increased focus from Europe’s big guns will make it a lot more difficult to keep him in Glasgow.

It would be better for Celtic if he is beaten to the prize, and he continues to develop off the radar. They may not be able to hold onto him forever, but they should be hopeful of getting him to stick around for the next two-and-a-half seasons at least.
