Last night, news emerged from Paradise which – if true – should infuriate every Celtic fan amid a turbulent time for the club.
On Monday night, the Daily Record revealed that Aberdeen are set to confirm Stephen Glass as their new manager, with Scott Brown expected to be named as his No.2.
Now, this news should annoy Hoops fans everywhere.
At a time of great uncertainty for Celtic, the last thing the Bhoys need is to lose someone with the immense leadership qualities Brown possesses.
The 35-year-old has been at Celtic Park since 2007, and has made an incredible 604 appearances for the club in total.
After Neil Lennon’s exit, and with Peter Lawwell also stepping down as CEO soon, the club is experiencing a real transition period where people who truly understand Celtic are departing.

In that respect, we would’ve tried hard to keep Brown at the club for at least one more season, just so somebody who gets Celtic can help bed in new arrivals and provide some information to the new manager and CEO.
Without Brown, Lennon and Lawwell, Celtic will see three men who have spent years at the club disappear in a flash, which leaves them lacking identity somewhat.
Of course, things had gone stale under Lennon and Lawwell – there’s no denying that.

However, it’s hard to find a new identity by stripping away the previous regime entirely.
In our view, Brown should’ve been kept on to help oversee this transition, and ensure it stays in touch with Celtic’s roots.
