Manchester City-owned Celtic midfielder Patrick Roberts played against Heart of Midlothian at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend.

Celtic fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to urge Patrick Roberts to stay at the club next season.

Roberts is currently on an 18-month loan deal at Scottish Premiership club Celtic from Premier League outfit Manchester City.

The 20-year-old winger has proved to be a brilliant signing for the Bhoys and has been very impressive for Brendan Rodgers’s side this season.

The England Under-20 international has scored 17 goals in 58 appearances in all competitions for the Glasgow giants since his loan move from City, as stated on the club’s official website.

Roberts featured for Celtic in their final Scottish Premiership game of the season against Heart of Midlothian at Celtic Park at the weekend.

The former Fulham winger started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes on Sunday afternoon, as the Hoops won 2-0.

The youngster is scheduled to return to his parent club City in the summer, but Celtic fans on Twitter want him to remain at Celtic Park for the 2016-17 campaign.
