No European night has been as memorable for positive reasons as the victory he starred in against Barcelona.
He later left for Southampton and subsequently Tottenham Hotspur, but faces an uncertain future.
Wanyama sent a short message yesterday talking of his desire to kick on this season.
Wanyama has made two Premier League appearances for Tottenham this season, both times as a substitute.
He is very much a fringe player, and was linked with a Celtic return at the end of the transfer window with Celtic boss Neil Lennon confirming interest, via Football Scotland.
Celtic supporters are very hopeful the club could renew interest in the 28-year-old in the January transfer window, and were quick to remind him how much they still admire him.
