The Frenchman will seemingly apply for the Celtic manager’s job.

It looks like Willy Sagnol will be applying for the Celtic job.
According to his UK-based representative Alex McDonald, Sagnol, most recently on the coaching staff at Bayern Munich, will throw his name in the ring to become Celtic’s new manager this summer [The Scottish Sun].
The Hoops are on the hunt for a new long-term boss following Brendan Rodgers’s shock departure in February, though Neil Lennon, who replaced Rodgers on an interim basis, isn’t out of the running.
A number of exciting names – including Roberto Martinez and Andre Villas-Boas – have been tentatively linked to the role at Parkhead, but it seems like the former France international will try his hand.
Sagnol, who also managed French side Bordeaux for two years, isn’t the most high-profile candidate.
Here’s how some Celtic fans reacted to his expected application:
Sagnol, a pundit with French broadcaster RMC Sport, doesn’t have a distinguished managerial career and therefore you can understand why some – or quite a few – fans of the Bhoys might be a little hesitant.
Managing Celtic is a massive job and whoever the club hires – if it isn’t Neil Lennon – will be charged with the task of completing the elusive 10-in-a-row.
There’s no margin for error here and you wonder whether the 42-year-old’s modest CV might harm his chances.
