Celtic striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo was in action today.
Celtic’s first team claimed an important 2-0 Scottish Cup win at Hibernian on Saturday, and today it was the turn of their reserves.
The Bhoys took on Dundee at Forfar’s Station Park stadium today, with some prominent names in the side.
Marvin Compper and Scott Allan both started, as did attacking trio Armstrong Oko-Flex, Jack Aitchison and new signing Vakoun Issouf Bayo.
It proved to be a comfortable day for Celtic, as they ran out 6-0 winners, having been 4-0 up by half time.
Aitchison, Kerr McInroy, Bayo and Oko-Flex had all scored in the first half, before Thomas Caffrey and a second for Aitchison sealed the win.
Aitchison’s brace is very encouraging, but the big news was Bayo’s first goal for the club since a January move from Dunajska Streda, whilst he also grabbed two assists.
The Ivorian has played just once for the Celtic first team, and that was a brief cameo at Kilmarnock, whilst having been signed by Brendan Rodgers, he must now impress new boss Neil Lennon.
Fans were buzzing with his performance, noting that he looked ‘really good’, whilst others hope to see him around the first team soon, feeling that he can play a major role in certain games, though one fan did voice some concerns that Lennon may not fancy him – but after a goal and two assists, he appears to have done enough to get fans excited.
