The ex-Celtic boss is tipping Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers to be a major ‘force’ this season.

Celtic fans on Twitter have laughed off a claim made by former manager Tony Mowbray about Rangers.
Mowbray, now in charge of Championship side Blackburn Rovers, held Steven Gerrard’s Gers side to a 1-1 draw at Ibrox on Sunday.
The goal for Rangers this season is to stop Celtic from winning a ninth Scottish Premiership title in succession, ending the dream of an unprecedented 10-in-a-row.
And so far it looks like Gerrard has made a series of top-quality improvements to his Light Blues’ squad.
Mowbray, who lasted less than one season in charge at Parkhead before being sacked in 2010, told The Scottish Sun on Sunday this Rangers side are going to be a threat to the Hoops’ dominance in Scotland this season.
And here’s how Celtic fans reacted to the claim:
Are Rangers a better team now in comparison to the one that finished nine points behind their Old Firm rivals in May? Definitely, but have they bridged the gap enough to knock Neil Lennon’s side off their perch? That’s an entirely different question.
Gerrard’s side not only have to get better, but they also have to get better than Celtic, who have also made improvements this summer.
Either way, it could be the best Scottish Premiership title race for some time and even some Bhoys supporters might admit that there’s an enhanced element of intrigue about the whole thing this year.
