He missed the last Old Firm game as he was with Australia’s international squad for the Asian Cup.
The 26-year-old subsequently got injured and has not played a game for Celtic in 2019.
A return for the Old Firm game is perfectly timed, especially as a Celtic win will all but clinch the title.
Celtic hold a 10 point gap and the pressure is all on Rangers.
It is tempting for Celtic to bring him straight back into the starting XI.
However with the sizeable points gap they hold, there is no urgency to rush his return.
