Celtic fans on Twitter are on board with speculation about signing Sergio Quintero.
The 20-year-old told El Universo on Tuesday that Celtic are negotiating his transfer with Imbabura SC, but that an agreement needed to be made this week.
Quintero is a defensive midfielder who is nicknamed ‘The Machine’ and his power and aggression caught the eye during Ecuador’s Under-20 World Cup campaign.

It’s worth noting that Celtic boss Neil Lennon has already poured cold water on the rumour by revealing that he’s never heard of Quintero.
But that, of course, would make the youngster a liar after he revealed that the Hoops were in talks to sign him.
Lennon might be simply being cagey, as he often is before a transfer is confirmed, but time will tell if this transfer rumour is genuine or not.
