Celtic could only draw their latest Scottish Premiership clash, but had chances to bag the three points.
Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Scott Sinclair’s performance in the Hoops’ draw with Motherwell on Sunday, and while there was some support for the forward, the majority of the fans have slammed the 28-year-old’s display.
Brendan Rodgers’ men would have been hoping to take one further step towards wrapping up the Scottish Premiership title when they travelled to Fir Park one week after they came out on top in an enthralling Old Firm game.
But while they extended their lead at the top of the table, they could not get the better of a Well side that defended expertly in the wake of Cedric Kipre’s red card following a first-half clash with Scott Brown.
The Hoops had their chances, and one of the best fell to Sinclair, who had been brought on on the hour mark after playing no part in last week’s Old Firm game.
Sinclair led a Celtic counter attack but made the decision to shoot when the Bhoys were virtually heading into the box three against one and Patrick Roberts would have had a simple task had the ball been rolled across the box to him.
The shot was blocked and the Hoops had to settle for a point heading into the international break. And much of the frustration amongst the fans was directed at Sinclair for his poor performance and disappointing form.
Not everyone was unhappy with the £3 million signing‘s display, and some even praised his contribution to the game, but most seem to believe that he is simply not the same player who stole the show in the top flight last season.
