The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, made Barker his latest Ibrox recruit on Friday.

Celtic supporters are reacting to reports they were beaten to the signing of Brandon Barker by their Old Firm rivals Rangers.
Barker played under the Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, at Hibernian, and is known to the Rangers director of football, Mark Allen, from their time together at Manchester City.
Celtic were linked with Barker earlier in the summer, and according to the Express he was on Lennon’s radar before he agreed a three-year-deal with Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side on Friday.
But it is unclear whether or not Celtic’s interest was indeed recent.
And these Bhoys fans certainly aren’t having that their side have missed out on a player to Rangers.
Barker’s arrival at Rangers appears to have spelt the end of the Gers’ pursuit of Ryan Kent, the attacking midfielder who starred while on loan at Ibrox last season.
And Rangers will hope the former City player can have a similar impact to his Liverpool counterpart in Glasgow, as they seek to deny Celtic their ninth straight Premiership title.
