Celtic and Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers square off in a Scottish Premiership clash next week.

Celtic fans on Twitter are laughing off ambitious claims by Steven Gerrard that Rangers can win the Scottish Premiership even if they lose every Old Firm clash this season.
The Rangers boss, whose side visit Parkhead next weekend in the first Glasgow derby of his reign, told The Daily Record that beating Celtic was not a prerequisite for winning the title.
He said: “I haven’t even thought about the Old Firm game. I’m not obsessed with Celtic. I am more obsessed with being successful as the Rangers manager.
“I could lose every Old Firm game I go into and still win the league. Why should I be obsessed with them?”
Inevitably, Hoops fans have reacted to those comments by the Gers boss, and many believe that he is laying the foundations for positivity even if Rangers lose at Celtic Park on Sunday.
Here’s how they reacted:
Gerrard is technically right, in the sense that a Premiership title is possible without beating Celtic, but it’s very unlikely.
Brendan Rodgers’s side won’t lose many games in the league this season, meaning that it’s much more important that Rangers take points off them at every available opportunity. Those games are six-pointers and if the Gers lose every single one of them then it’s incredibly difficult to finish above them.
The Blues, who sit fourth in the table, are one point behind the second-placed Bhoys at the moment, and five adrift of high-flying Hearts.
