Nir Bitton hasn’t been every Celtic supporter’s cup of tea.

In his defence, the Israeli midfielder has spent much of this season playing out of position for Brendan Rodgers’ side, at the heart of the Bhoys back four.

It’s not always gone as hoped, either, with Celtic’s nervy 4-3 defeat against Astana in the final round of Champions League qualification one such example of Bitton enduring a difficult day’s work.

Callum McGregor scores for Celtic during the Champions League group B match between Celtic FC and Bayern Muenchen at Celtic Park on October 31, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.
