Celtic suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of the Bundesliga champions

Nir Bitton hasn’t been every Celtic supporter’s cup of tea.
In his defence, the Israeli midfielder has spent much of this season playing out of position for Brendan Rodgers’ side, at the heart of the Bhoys back four.
It’s not always gone as hoped, either, with Celtic’s nervy 4-3 defeat against Astana in the final round of Champions League qualification one such example of Bitton enduring a difficult day’s work.
His presence beside Dedryck Boyata in Rodgers’ starting XI to face Bayern Munich therefore, will have caused some concern among the Bhoys’ fanbase.
But while Celtic may have suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the perennial Bundesliga champions – whose goals came from Kingsley Coman and Javi Martinez either side of Callum McGregor’s equaliser – Bitton has emerged with a fair bit of credit from those of a green and white persuasion.
