Celtic have terminated Youssouf Mulumbu’s contract.

Youssouf Mulumbu’s Celtic career is officially over.
Brendan Rodgers signed the DR Congo international from Kilmarnock last summer, but the 32-year-old struggled in a big way at Parkhead.
Mulumbu made only three appearances for Celtic, before Rodgers loaned him back to the Rugby Park club in January.
Neil Lennon, who replaced Rodgers in February, confirmed on Saturday that the former West Brom star’s contract at Lennoxtown had been terminated and he is now a free transfer [The Record].
Here’s how Hoops fans reacted to the development:
It didn’t work out for Mulumbu, whose contract wasn’t due to expire until next summer, but that isn’t to say he’s a bad footballer because he’s anything but.
His performances against Celtic proved as much during the 2017-18 campaign, but Lennon simply has a stable full of incredible midfield options and Mulumbu has neither the age or the ability to stake a claim to play regularly.
He is expected to start DR Congo’s last Africa Cup of Nations game with Zimbabwe this evening and a good performance might put him in the shop window, in light of Lennon’s revelation.
