Celtic extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership but did not enjoy the perfect afternoon.

Celtic fans have been reacting on Twitter after Mikael Lustig endured another miserable afternoon during the Hoops’ Scottish Premiership clash with Aberdeen that ended with the Swede being sent off during the second-half.
Lustig has arguably been well short of his best form this season and went into the game at Pittodrie with plenty to prove after arguably being at fault for Zenit St Petersburg’s third goal in midweek.

Unfortunately for the right-back, while Celtic secured an important 2-0 win that leaves Brendan Rodgers’ men nine points clear at the top of the table, Lustig gave the supporters little reason to believe that he can still be relied upon as he picked up two yellow cards, with his second coming after a needless foul on former teammate Gary Mackay-Steven.
He made an important block shortly before the dismissal, but his performance and the red card has seen Lustig come in for a significant amount of criticism on social media after the game.

Several Hoops fans believe that as good a servant as the defender has been at Parkhead, his time as a first-team regular for the club may be coming to an end with Anthony Ralston looking to break through into the side.
Ralston may perhaps have a chance to impress in the near future with Lustig suspended. And it certainly appears that many Celtic fans are ready to see the youngster become Rodgers’ first-choice right-back.
Here is the best of the reaction to Lustig’s display…
