Marvin Compper impressed for Celtic in a friendly on Wednesday.

Celtic fans were impressed by the look of rarely-seen defender Marvin Compper on Wednesday.
The German centre-back played the first 45 minutes as Celtic kicked off their pre-season tour of Austria with a 1-0 victory over Vorwaerts Steyr.
James Forrest scored the game’s only goal, but it was the 33-year-old stalwart who had some fans of the Parkhead club talking on Twitter at full time.
Love Island World Cup: If EVERY contestant was a 2018 World Cup team
Here is how they reacted to his performance:

The former RB Leipzig player joined Brendan Rodgers’s side in January for £1 million [The Scotsman] but a lack of form and fitness saw him struggle during his first six months in Scotland.
Compper managed just the one game under Rodgers – a Scottish Cup win over Morton in March – and he’ll be desperate to make up for lost time next season.
By virtue of the fact that he has one cap for Germany, Compper can still be a big player for the Hoops irrespective of his low-profile start, and someone of his experience could be of big value next time around.
