Celtic bounced back from their defeat at Hibernian on Sunday to record a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Motherwell and regain top spot in the Scottish Premiership – but fans have reacted to Lewis Morgan’s cameo role in mixed fashion.

Brendan Rodgers fielded a somewhat makeshift side to play host to Stephen Robinson’s men, with the likes of Anthony Ralston, Emilio Izaguirre and Jozo Simunovic all starting the match.

Ralston was the surprise man to open the scoring, finding the back of the net for the first time in Celtic colours after good play from Odsonne Edouard. Scott Sinclair doubled the advantage from the penalty spot, after a foul on James Forrest.

Mikey Johnston came off the bench to replace the injured Edouard in the 38th minute, and on the stroke of half-time he also scored his first goal for Celtic with an excellent effort that flew past Mark Gillespie via the crossbar.

Morgan, 22, entered the field of play in the 65th minute, replacing Sinclair for what was just his 13th appearance of the season in all competitions. Indeed, the £300,000 January signing (BBC) has only started one of those against RB Leipzig.

Celtic fans reacted in mixed fashion to Morgan’s display on Twitter, with some fans still unsure over the former St. Mirren star while others want to see more from the two-time Scotland international.
