Patryk Klimala opened his account for Celtic on Thursday night.
The young Polish striker equalised for the Hoops as Neil Lennon’s side drew 1-1 with Nice during a pre-season friendly in France.
Klimala, a £3.5 million addition in January by head of recruitment Nicky Hammond, chased down the hosts’ goalkeeper and forced him into a mistake, before casually tapping into an empty net.
Even chasing it down looked like a lost cause, but the 21-year-old’s appetite was rewarded in the end.
Much is expected of Klimala after Lennon spent so much on an unknown quantity earlier this year.

The timing of this goal couldn’t have been any better for Klimala.
Speaking after the game, Lennon blasted Leigh Griffiths who was left out of the trip to France after returning to training out of shape last month.
It’s a battle between Klimala and Griffiths to be Lennon’s number two striker next season, behind Odsonne Edouard, and his goal last night, coupled with the Scots’ off-the-field problems right now, mean the youngster is well ahead at the moment.
