Kieran Tierney is getting abuse from Celtic fans on Twitter
It was always going to happen eventually and it looks like that day has come: Celtic fans are unhappy with left-back Kieran Tierney.
The 20-year-old has been the golden child at Parkhead over the past two years, and rightly so because he has developed into one of Europe’s most exciting youngsters under Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers.
He is a hugely popular figure among Celtic fans but Tierney incurred the wrath of the Hoops faithful in Sunday’s 2-2 draw away to Hibernian at Easter Road.
Defensively he had did not find himself with a great deal to do, but the Scot was very ordinary going forward by his own sky-high standards and the supporters have questioned whether Rodgers needs to give him a rest.
Two goals in four second-half minutes from Scott Sinclair helped Celtic into a 2-0 lead over Neil Lennon’s side, who earned a 2-2 draw at Parkhead earlier in the season.
And it seemed like the Northern Irishman’s troops succeeded in repeating history as a quickfire double from Efe Ambrose and Andrew Shaw on 76 and 79 minutes helped pegged back the Scottish champions.
