Celtic fans were impressed by Jonny Hayes’s exploits on Saturday.

Jonny Hayes was given a rare start by Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers on Saturday and, according to fans, he seemed to take the chance with both hands.
The £1.3 million summer signing has struggled to justify his seven-figure transfer fee since joining from Aberdeen in June.

The 30-year-old earned only his fourth Premiership start of the season as the Hoops thrashed Motherwell 5-1 at Parkhead yesterday.
And although he hasn’t scored or set up a goal yet, fans of the Hoops are adamant that it was Hayes’s best performance in a Celtic shirt.

Hayes’s situation is puzzling.
He was, after all, the only non-Celtic player to be nominated for the Player of the Year award last season after scoring nine and setting up 12 goals for the Dons.
The Republic of Ireland international has the talent but whether Brendan Rodgers can get his best form is another matter entirely it seems.
