Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers face Celtic in Saturday’s Old Firm clash at Parkhead.
Graeme Murty has told STV that his Rangers side are capable of giving anybody a good game ahead of Saturday’s trip to Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Rangers go into tomorrow’s clash on the back of a 2-0 win over Motherwell in midweek which arrested a two-match losing streak against Kilmarnock and St Johnstone respectively.
The 43-year-old has won seven of the 11 Premiership games that he has taken charge of since Pedro Caixinha’s dismissal back in October, with back-to-back wins over Aberdeen proving that the Ibrox side can mix it with some of the best in Scotland.
But the trip to Celtic represents another test altogether and Brendan Rodgers’s side have reacted well to losing their 69-match unbeaten run at Hearts, swatting aside Partick Thistle, Aberdeen and Dundee without conceding a goal.
But Murty is adamant that his Rangers troops have the collective quality to “give anyone a game” – as long as they perform on the day.
He told STV: “They have shown a level of performance, to go to Murrayfield and win, to go to Easter Road and win, to go to Pittodrie and win.
“The boys have to gain some enthusiasm and encouragement from that. We know, when we perform properly we can give anyone a game.
“So regardless of the level Celtic perform at, we have to concentrate on delivering our best performance of the season.”
The comments went down well with those on the green half of the Old Firm divide, with plenty of Hoops fans on Twitter finding the funny side of Murty’s comments.
