Celtic’s hopes of bringing Fraser Forster back to the club again this summer appear to be dwindling – or possibly even over.
The Bhoys re-signed Forster from Southampton last summer, taking him back on loan five years since selling him to the Saints.
Forster got his career back on track with a superb season, but isn’t interested in another loan move – and Celtic can’t bring him back permanently.
That means Celtic have to look to other options, and one of them appears to be Newcastle United stopper Freddie Woodman.
The Chronicle claim Woodman, who is currently impressing on loan at Swansea City, is a loan target for Celtic with Newcastle potentially prepared to farm him out again.
The Magpies already have Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow in their ranks, whilst they have just signed Mark Gillespie to be third-choice next season.

Woodman seemingly doesn’t have a spot at Newcastle, and Celtic fans have been reacting to the rumours that the Englishman could end up at Parkhead.
Some really want to see Woodman join the club, believing that he is a very talented goalkeeper and would follow in Forster’s footsteps by joining Celtic on loan from Newcastle.
Others think Woodman is too inexperienced to join in such a vital campaign, as Celtic will be going for a tenth league title in a row – and simply feel the task is too big for Woodman.
