Some Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction after watching Fraser Forster in acton for Southampton against Liverpool.
Forster, who spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Celtic from Southampton, started for the Saints in their Premier League game against Liverpool at St. Mary’s Stadium on Monday evening.
With Alex McCarthy having to self-isolate, the 32-year-old goalkeeper got his chance for the Saints.
The veteran English goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Celtic in the January transfer window.
The Athletic reported in December that the defending Scottish Premiership champions could potentially make a move for the former Newcastle United man.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon told Sky Sports in July 2020 that he wanted to bring Forster back to the club, but a move did not materialise.
Forster played well for the Saints against the Reds and helped his team to a 1-0 win in the Premier League game.
The former Celtic loanee looked solid between the posts and will be encouraged by the clean sheet.
