Emilio Izaguirre made his first Scottish Premiership start for Celtic since rejoining the club in the summer.

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to laud Emilio Izaguirre after Brendan Rodgers handed the defender the chance to make his first league start since he returned to Parkhead in the summer.
Izaguirre’s return to the Hoops has been somewhat underwhelming, though through little fault of his own. The 32-year-old has only been able to make a handful of appearances as Kieran Tierney continues to impress at left-back.
But with Tierney injured for Saturday’s clash with Kilmarnock, the Honduras international was handed a chance to impress. And he unquestionably made the most of the opportunity.
Celtic got off to a flyer against Steve Clarke’s side, with Izaguirre setting up James Forrest for the opening goal after just five minutes. The Hoops would be 4-0 up by half-time and went on to win 5-1 to move to the top of the Scottish Premiership.

For many supporters on social media, the full-back’s performance was a brilliant reminder of how good he actually is. He has to be considered desperately unlucky to have the best left-back in Scotland as his teammate.
And many are convinced after the emphatic victory over Killie on Saturday that Izaguirre is the second best in that position in the country. At the moment, it is difficult to disagree.
