Celtic are into the Scottish Cup final after beating Aberdeen 2-0 at Hampden Park in today’s semi-final clash.

The Bhoys have been in patchy form of late, losing to Rangers and AC Milan before draws with Aberdeen and Lille.

They were back in winning form today though, and took the lead when Ryan Christie curled home a beautiful long-range effort.

Just five minutes later, Celtic effectively killed off the game as Mohamed Elyounoussi made it 2-0, with the Bhoys seeing the game out from there.

Neil Lennon will now be hoping that this helps Celtic kick on, especially having seen Rangers move nine points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table today.

For now though, the focus will be on celebrating today’s win, and new signing Diego Laxalt turned in another strong performance.

The Uruguayan joined on a season-long loan deal from AC Milan on deadline day, and is already making himself a fan favourite with a series of committed displays, with quality to match his work rate.

Fans took to Twitter to react to Laxalt’s performance today, with fans begging for him to sign permanently in 2021.

Others were remarking ‘what a player’, with some branding him ‘an absolute gem’ and ‘brilliant’ having impressed at left back today.
