Dedryck Boyata has refused to commit his future to Celtic as he heads into the final year of his Parkhead contract.

Celtic fans have issued an emphatic response to Dedryck Boyata after the defender made comments, that have been reported by The Scottish Sun, where he suggested that there is no guarantee that he will remain at Parkhead.
The Scottish Sun reports that Boyata’s current deal with the Hoops expires at the end of next season, and while there have recently been talks with the Celtic hierarchy over a new deal, no agreement has been reached.

And Boyata has seemingly dropped a further hint that his days with the club could be numbered by suggesting that his future is not set in stone in his mind.
“I’m not in a rush. Of course, being there, it’s good. But I don’t know what is going to happen in the future.”

Unsurprisingly, Boyata’s comments have not gone down well amongst the Celtic fans on Twitter – though it must be mentioned that he also expressed his love for the club. The former Manchester City defender has been a liability since coming back into the team this month, putting in a particularly poor performance in the Old Firm game at Ibrox where he gifted Rangers one goal and was thankful to Scott Bain for making sure that he did not gift them another.
The 27-year-old has never quite managed to show the kind of form that suggests that he could be a stalwart of the side as they look to maintain their domestic dominance while also re-establishing themselves in Europe.
And that has prompted a number of fans to urge the club to get rid of the centre-back at the next available opportunity and instead put faith in those who clearly want to be at Parkhead.
Here is the best of the reaction…
