Daniel Arzani won’t kick another ball for Celtic this season after being ruled out for the rest of the campaign by Brendan Rodgers.

Quite a lot of Celtic fans on Twitter have expressed their disappointment over the news of Daniel Arzani.

On Friday, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the Australian wonderkid and Eboue Kouassi would both be absent for the remainder of the season.

Arzani, who joined the Hoops on a two-year loan from Manchester City in the summer, sustained the season-ending injury in the 5-0 drubbing of Dundee during the week.

Tragically, it was the 19-year-old’s competitive debut for Celtic’s senior side, and the youngster – who represented Australia during the World Cup – had shown some promising signs of his talent.

Here’s how some Bhoys supporters reacted to Rodgers’s bombshell:

It remains to be seen whether Arzani will stay with Celtic or return to parent club Man City for his treatment.

If his loan ended next summer then going back to Eastlands would make sense, but the agreement runs until the summer of 2020, meaning that the Premiership giants could still get one season out of him, if he is fit by next August.

That aside, it leaves Rodgers with one less wide player, and strengthening that position this January ought to be a priority.
