Celtic are hunting for a new manager having parted ways with Neil Lennon on Wednesday morning.

The Bhoys lost 1-0 to Ross County on Sunday night, with their dismal season taking another catastrophic turn.

Lennon resigned on Wednesday morning, and the search is now on for a replacement as Celtic look for a manager to take the job forward.

The Scottish Sun now claim that Dan Petrescu is one of the options for the job, and would jump at the chance to move to Parkhead.

Petrescu has endured a nomadic managerial career, with 16 managerial jobs over the course of his career, managing in Romania, Poland, Russia, Qatar, China, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.

The Romanian has just left his position as Kayserispor boss despite being in charge for just six weeks, and that has resulted in rumours about the Celtic job.

Petrescu is no stranger to Celtic fans having masterminded CFR Cluj’s shock Champions League qualifying win over the Bhoys in 2019.

Fans are split on a move though, with some saying they would approve such a deal having been impressed with his work at Cluj.

Others aren’t convinced, suggesting that there should be ‘no chance’ of Petrescu getting the job, as he wouldn’t take the club forward for the future.
