Celtic paid tribute to Mikael Lustig on Twitter after the defender landed his 16th major honour for the Hoops at the weekend.

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club posted a message that paid tribute to Mikael Lustig after the right-back secured the 16th major honour of his Parkhead career at the weekend.
Neil Lennon’s men made it three domestic Trebles on the spin on Saturday as they came from behind to beat Hearts 2-1 in the final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park.
It has been another fantastic season from the Bhoys. But it is going to be a crucial summer with some questioning whether Lennon is the right man to take the club forward and with Rangers threatening to close the gap.
And one of the key decisions that the club will need to make is whether to keep Lustig. The 32-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has offers from Sweden, according to The Scottish Sun.

But while the defender has been criticised for his form over the last year, it appears that plenty of Hoops supporters now want to see him stay for at least one more season.
The club posted a tweet paying tribute to Lustig’s incredible record since arriving in 2012. And in response, several fans insisted that they want Lustig – who has arguably looked a lot better since Lennon’s return – to go nowhere, and perhaps even stay for what could be their 10th league title in a row in a couple of years.
