The Celtic youngster started for the Bhoys this weekend and he did not disappoint.

With Celtic winning the Scottish Premiership at a canter this season, Bhoys manager Brendan Rodgers was able to give some of the club’s next generation their first senior starts this weekend.

Michael Johnstone made his debut against St Johnstone while Anthony Ralston started for the first timer after coming off the bench against the same opposition late last year and also appearing as a substitute against Motherwell.

Both players impressed, with Ralston showing a confidence that belied his inexperience in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic ran out 4-1 winners courtesy of a Patrick Roberts brace and goals from Dedryck Boyata and Callum McGregor and on this evidence there should be a few more chances for the Bhoys’ youngsters between now and the end of the campaign.

Rodgers is likely to significantly strengthen his options again this summer, however he will also know he has some teenage prospects chomping at the bit to get on the pitch.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what Celtic fans thought of Ralston’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
