Andrew Gutman left Celtic to join an American side on loan yesterday.

Celtic announced on Friday that Andrew Gutman has returned to the United States to join Charlotte Independence on loan [official site].
The 22-year-old defender only joined Celtic on a three-and-a-half year deal in January.
But it looks like manager Brendan Rodgers has no immediate first-team plans for the young American, who will ply his trade with the second-tier American side for now.
Here is how fans of the Parkhead club reacted to the transfer:
It remains to be seen how long the loan is for.
Some fans on Twitter have suggested that work permit issues are the reason behind his departure, but Rangers signed his compatriot Matt Polster last month and he was granted a visa to play in Scotland.
It seems more likely that Rodgers just doesn’t need him right now, evident by the fact that Manny Perez, another American who joined the Hoops in January, has also been loaned out.
