Celtic picked up a comfortable 4-0 win over St Johnstone on Wednesday evening as Scott Brown signed off from Parkhead in style.

The Bhoys captain was playing in his final home game for Celtic as he prepares to join Aberdeen at the end of the season.

Brown started in the victory as David Turnbull, Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Karamoko Dembele all got themselves on the scoresheet.

As one Celtic career ended when Brown was substituted, another one really got started as Adam Montgomery was named in John Kennedy’s starting XI.

Originally a striker, Montgomery has been converted into a left back – just like Celtic attempted with Calvin Miller in the past.

Celtic need to find their long-term left back, and Montgomery staked a claim as he played more than an hour in Wednesday’s victory.

Fans have been praising Montgomery, suggesting that he was ‘outstanding’ and ‘really good’, believing that Celtic should invest real time in him moving forward.

Some even compared him to Kieran Tierney, believing that he could follow in the footsteps of the Arsenal man by becoming a homegrown regular at left back.
