Celtic booked their ticket to the Europa League knockout stages, but still suffered a defeat.
Stuart Armstrong
Celtic fans have slammed Stuart Armstrong on Twitter after the midfielder’s performance in their final Champions League group-stage clash with Anderlecht at Parkhead.
Brendan Rodgers’ men booked their place in the Europa League knockout stages but rounded off their Champions League campaign with a 1-0 defeat to the Belgian outfit who they thrashed 3-0 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

It was a poor performance from the Scottish Premiership side, leaving many of their supporters extremely frustrated on social media despite the fact that they ensured that they would be playing European football after Christmas.
The player who seemed to come in for the most criticism on Twitter after the defeat was Stuart Armstrong who played the first-half at Celtic Park before being replaced by Olivier Ntcham at the break.

Despite Armstrong looking inspired during Rodgers’ first season at the club, his form this season has been considerably more underwhelming – for example, he has scored just once in the top flight this term.
And many of the supporters not only want the midfielder to be dropped by Rodgers after his performance against Anderlecht, but some have even suggested that the club should look to sell him in January if they get any offers for him.
Here is the best of the reaction…
