Celtic went to the top of the Scottish Premiership, but could not keep their winning run going on Sunday.
A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to slam Scott Sinclair’s performance during the Hoops’ draw with Livingston, with many also angry at Brendan Rodgers for keeping the forward on the park throughout the game.
It was a frustrating afternoon for the Bhoys who went into the contest off the back of four straight wins where they had conceded only one goal and scored 15.
And while they went back to the top of the Scottish Premiership, it was not with the result that Rodgers would have been hoping for as Livi defended superbly to keep Celtic at bay and remain within touching distance of the top-half pack.
Sinclair seemed to receive a lot of criticism on social media after the game. The Englishman endured a difficult time and several Celtic fans expressed their disbelief that James Forrest was taken off when Rodgers made a change shortly after the hour-mark rather than Sinclair.
Sinclair – who signed for £3 million during Rodgers’ first season, according to the Guardian – recently enjoyed an upturn in form, scoring two in two at the end of last month. But many supporters seem adamant that that good run is definitely over now.
In fact, some Celtic fans have suggested, after his performance on Sunday, that Rodgers has to drop Sinclair once the season resumes after the international break as he is not making enough of an impact to warrant a place in the side.
