Rangers striker was unable to really threaten Celtic despite the pre-game hype.

Alfredo Morelos went into this weekend’s Old Firm game billed as Rangers’s deadliest striker in years.
He has netted eight goals so far this season and had hoped to score the goals to end Celtic’s stunning unbeaten run which stretched 56 domestic matches heading into the fixture.
Morelos was ineffective in the derby and unable to provide the spark Rangers needed to win the game.

He was shut out by Celtic’s defeat in a 2-0 victory for Brendan Rodgers’ side at Ibrox, leaving Rangers with plenty to ponder.
The Light Blues felt aggrieved after the game that Morelos should have had a penalty which was not called, but every bit as frustrating for the home support was his inability to stay onside.
The Colombian striker is just 21 and will learn from the battle, and there will be several more chances this season for him to try and get one over on Rangers’ rivals.

Many Celtic fans had braced themselves for Morelos being a difference maker for Rangers, and were delighted that their side managed to render him ineffective.
There was certainly no ‘Moussa Dembele’ moment for the striker on his Old Firm game.
Here is a look at how Celtic fans reacted to his performance…
