Celtic fans have plenty to say in reaction to Rangers star’s dig.
Connor Goldson got his first taste of an Old Firm derby at the weekend and it ended in defeat as Rangers lost 1-0 to Celtic.
This was a disappointment for Rangers, although some fans and players are attempting to put a positive spin on the defeat and the fact it was only by one goal.
Connor Goldson was among these, telling the Daily Record he expected Celtic to be better and Brendan Rodgers’ side were ‘hardly Barcelona’.
Celtic were unlucky not to win by more goals, with the woodwork denying them a more substantial win, along with solid goalkeeping from Allan McGregor.
The Rangers’ defender’s comments are a compliment to Celtic, and a sign of the trepidation Steven Gerrard’s side went into the game with, even the summer signings.
Goldson’s comments increase the pressure on Rangers to step it up when the teams next face off at Ibrox in late December.
