Celtic fans are desperate for Patrick Roberts to make his third return to Parkhead, after the Manchester City winger’s comments.

Roberts suggested to The Sun that he was open to a move from City this summer, and he refused to rule out Celtic as a possible destination.

He said: “Obviously I said at the end of the season that I spent a good two and a half years there and my time was brilliant.

“You never know in football.

“I’ve said before that I could end up back there at some point but right now I’m just looking at what’s best for me and best for my future.”

Roberts has spent the last two and a half seasons at Celtic, and his performances have made him a fans’ favourite.

When he returned to City, after his loan spell expired, it was expected that he would move on to another side in England.

However, Roberts is still currently with City – and Celtic may just have an outside chance of landing the winger, with many of their supporters desperate for him to come back.

Roberts appears to have a fight on his hands to receive any game time with Pep Guardiola’s side, but he could be vital for Celtic, if he was to move.

Brendan Rodgers has helped develop the winger into a massively exciting prospect, and if Celtic were to bring him in then he would increase the quality of their attack significantly.
